BackRoads 2025 Spring Rookie Program
Whether you’re new to running or returning after a long break, this program is designed just for you! If you're curious about running or looking to regain your fitness, we’ve created a welcoming, gentle, and supportive journey to help you reach your goals!
Our mission is to guide you through this process at your own pace, gradually building your endurance, strength, and confidence. With a combination of walking and running intervals, you’ll progress steadily toward completing a 5K run with pride and joy.
This 10-week program is the perfect way to gain strength, feel more confident, and become part of a supportive community cheering you on every step of the way.
What’s Included:
- 10-week training program with weekly emails
- Start date: Monday, April 14th

Training sessions:
- Monday and Wednesday run/walks at 5:45 PM from BackRoads
- Saturday OR Sunday "homework runs" (on your own!)
- 8-week lead-up to the Forest City Road Races 5K on Sunday, June 8th (optional, paid event)
- Rookie 5K celebration run on Saturday, June 21st
- Group instructors offering excellent support and guidance
- Positive interactions with fellow members, runners, and friends
- Expert advice on running, gear, and running shoes
- Engaging atmosphere in a fun, group-oriented environment
