BackRoads Winter 10k+ Running Program 2025
Boost Your Endurance, Speed, and Performance this Spring!
The 10k+ program is the perfect option for those looking to stay fit or train for a 5K, 10K or up to a half-marathon! The program will prepare you to run this distance for the first time, or help you improve your endurance and speed. It is recommended that you can run 5K before starting this program.
Our 10k+ program has a structure that fosters a strong sense of community, encouraging collaboration and support among runners who have a wide range of experience and abilities. At BackRoads, we’re proud to offer an inclusive and diverse running environment where every participant is celebrated. Our last 10km + program saw 95 active members!
Program Details:

Start Date: Tuesday, January 14th, 6:00pm at BackRoads

Focus: 10k to your first half-marathon

What’s Included:

15-Week Training Program:
2-week base period, 11-week race-specific training (10k to half-marathon), 2-week taper (targeting Mississauga 1/2 or Toledo 1/2) -
Other possible race targets include: Around the Bay 5K/10K/15K, Springbank Sprint 5K/10K

Tuesdays: 6:00 PM - Intervals/Repeats/Hills

Thursdays: 6:00 PM - Easy social runs (5k-10k)

Sundays: 8:00 AM - Long runs (varied distances)
